There Is Only One Way To Get That Once In A Life Time Specials Dog And That IS By Shear Luck Our beloved Maxine was born a special girl and she knew it In the conformation ring, In the whelping box And most of all, As our beloved companion and family member No mater where she went or what she was doing It was always "Look at ME, I'm special don't you know" Everyone loved Maxine From the children at the school bus stop by our house Handlers, Judges and even strangers seem to love That sparkle in her eyes, the bounce in her step And most of all her Zest for Life We thanked God for every day Maxine was with us For it was by a divine hand that brought Maxine into our life and keep her with us for 5 1/2 years AFTER she was diagnosed with cancer Maxine was a tough brave strong girl, in body and mind She fought the cancer to the last day Her mind was strong and willing to fight on, But her body lost the fight against a foe she could not see She left us Tuesday, June 6th, 2006 (6-6-06) a day I will never forget I have heard people say, "After only 5, 10, 14 years old I lost my fur friend" And I'm here to tell you Years do not mater when it comes to a family member For no mater how long a beloved fur baby lives IT'S JUST NOT LONG ENOUGH It's funny, I have written poems and good buy letters for friends that have lost a fur baby But I can not put into words how much sorrow is in my heart over the lose of Maxine So I will barrow a poem from Paw Print Gardens I've traveled the pathway before you I've made you Lord of my day But now that I've gone on before you It's only to show you the way Please Honor My Wishes And Do Not Take Any Of Maxine's Pictures From My Web Site Thank You |
