What We Are and Why We took our name, Lakota, from a PROUD and NOBLE people. The LAKHOTA, a Native American Tribe, of the Sioux Nation. A people of child like innocence and open honesty. Like our namesake, We at Lakota AmStaffs, pride ourselves in being both open and honest with our breeding program and to those seeking information about the American Staffordshire Terrier. We try, very hard, to breed to the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the Staffordshire Terrier Club of America (STCA) breed standard. Our goal, is to breed, NOT ONLY AmStaffs that look good for the Conformation ring, but AmStaffs that can compete in Obedience, Rally, Agility, Herding, Tracking and Carting Because of their Health, Temperament, Type and Moderate Size they can compete in any ring and still be a GREAT family member and companion. <<<<><><>>>> This website is in Honor of my Grand-Father A Native American of the Sioux Nation He taught me much about Respect and Honor This is a Quote from my Grand-Father; "Your word is your honor and if you break your word, YOU HAVE NO HONOR." <<<<><><>>>> Please Take Note "WE ARE AKC EXCLUSIVE" "AND SO ARE OUR DOGS" <<<<><><>>>> AmStaffs Are NOT pit bulls The term "Pit Bull" means any dog that is put into a pit or arena and fights a BULL, the old English Bull dog was breed for this horrible sport The bully breeds are related in some way, as all dogs are related Lets take the American Gentleman, the noble Boston Terrier, Yes he is related to the American Staffordshire Terrier, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the Bull Terrier and to all the dog breeds ALL the bully breeds owe their existence to the old bull and terrier crosses, BUT THEY ARE "NOT" THE SAME BREED All dogs are related, BUT NOT THE SAME BREED The Wolf, Fox and Yes the lowly Coyote is related to the dog, but THEY ARE NOT THE SAME BREED They are all in the caninus family, "They Are All Canines" BUT NOT THE SAME BREED I can not say this to much nor to often <<<<><><>>>> We Breed For "Health" Checking For Hip Dysplasia, Heart and Eye Disease's Hip, Heart and Eye Exams, by Certified Veterans "Temperament" Checking For Sound Minds By Doing CGC Test and/or TT Tests "Type" Breeding Dogs That Conform, As Close As possible, To The Breed Standard Breed Type Is As Important As Health and Temperament One With Out The Other Is NOT An American Staffordshire Terrier |
